What happened to all the old BUMS?

First of all - Thank You!

It's great to have a playground to mess about in! (tho I do feel a little 'old' now) Sad

What happened to everyone? And why did the reunion weekend seize to exist? (or is it still happening, but I'm just not getting invited?)

...
and yay! I've just de-virgin-ised this Sub-Forum! *feeling a warm proud glow*

RE: What happened to all the old BUMS?

Hi Nana,

I think the trouble is that the new bums have lost track of contacts for the old bums, so unless they turn up evry now and again then nobody really knows how to contact them.

Hiya nana again!!

hehe just read the other bit where you said about old addresses etc and that you've contacted a couple of people. I know that last year kerry sent the exec a list of addresses but not too sure where they have got to now,

would be cool getting the 'oldies' to come along on trips and lead!

RE: What happened to all the old BUMS?

well hello Bums - or should I say ex-bums,, tis I the gingerdave,,, Glad to see finally a forum has been created and set up not only for the current members but also for ex ones too it does look very swanky if a little hard to read on the front page (the eyesight isn't what it used to be! [cough, snigger]). Got the email nana - thanks!!

still cranking away i climb at amersham or the westway weekly, get away for weekends as often as possible doing all sorts, peaks, n.wales, font, even managed some winter stuff in scotland which was sooo cool (literally!!) a couple of mates and i flew up and camped in the cairngoms up in a corrie great fun. I am trying to organise some peeps to either go back up for a wknd this winter or to Norway for some serious ice stuff. but otherwise working in a very boring office surfing forums most of the time!! (ah ha another one to add to my favs,,,)

cool well keep us oldies in the loop, we used to (I still do) climb and drink hard you know!! ;-)

RE: What happened to all the old BUMS?

Daaaaave - DUDE! so good 2 c a familiar face! Wink

Hat, yeh, I copied all the addresses that Kerry had, but seem to NOT HAVE Kerry's address! *sniff* :S

Anyone still remember 'big hair' Gary (President from x-million years ago when Brunel still had a Physics department)? (Tim Henry and Kate East's mate)
I bumped into him while climbing at the WICC (Welsh Indoor Climbing Centre) - what a co-incidence! He's now based @ Cardiff too!!! Wheeee

Oh, and Chris Bevin (Gear & Safety 2004/5?) works at Castle Climb in North London now!!!!! Maybe the club cud even do a trip there? Their wall's really getting on and looking FAB - got everything from nice Bouldering, well graded medium/high walls. And a cafe (posh).. just in case one would prefer to have a Latte rather than inhale chalk.

Btw - I am living in Cardiff now - climbing with the CUM Club (Cardiff Uni Mountaineering Club)..

Got sum space 4 ppl 2 crash @ too - so if anyone's got gear and fancy climbs (my leading's still poo) or indoor stuff (with the WICC, Channel View, Swansea, Llangorse and Bristol's "The Church" near-ish-by)..
Let me know - wud b good to catch up too!

Hello all,

Yep still alive and still climbing.
I am currently mostly based in Surrey which is quite close.
Unfortunately, don't have an awful lot of free time, but I'll try
to stop by for something or other if poss.

Off to Switzerland on Fri for a couple of weeks easy alpinismBig Grin
and then back to "work".

Zay.. erm! Do I know you? (BUMS years?) My memory's starting to fade (it's the age you see..).

Yes, I will be joining CUM Club this year. You up for going to Tremadog for fresher's trip(the bums one)? I've got 2 seats left (well or 1, depending on whether i can be arsed to put the 3rd seat back into the car)..

Let me know. Also - I'm climbing bout twice a week in/around Cardiff. Gimme ur phone details and you can grab a lift with one of us - just to keep the climbing spirit up! Wink
