Fresher's Trip (Tremadog) from Cardiff
A shout out to all the oldies (and possible randoms)!
I am still planning on Tremadog (27-29 October 2006).
Zay, you still up for it?
Anyone else coming from these ways?
I'm based in Cardiff - can pick people up from Cardiff Central.

RE: Fresher's Trip (Tremadog) from Cardiff
hey
im not sure if i can make it or not - i now have 5 different plans for that same weekend and one of them is to do with my course so i feel like i should do that - but then climbing is extremely tempting! I will make up my mind in the next week and let you know if thats ok?

Sorry -
a) for not replying sooner - unlike all you lazy 'working' types my defintion of work unfortunately involves more than playing on forums! :p
and b) Im afraid i wont be able to make it after all - the course related thing is a conference about global health (therefore not really transportable) and as its appartently very competitive to get jobs abroad these days i think the more i have on my CV the better!
hope fun is had by all and someone else take over the tradition of falling out of the bunk!
I will however be in tremadog with swansea club in a couple of weeks so think someone should leave a surprise for me to find

Oh no! ah well. I concur that ur job is going to be of more importance in the long run!
I've just had a training thingy - hence I didn't make the first trip to the Peaks..
You shall be excused and 'oh no!' - there will be a distinct lack of oldies!
On such small scale one person makes a lot of difference.

one week left to go,
one week left to go,
eye eye yippee yo
one week left to go,,
not that i'm excited,,
oh and p.s nana, i'm sure we can make up plently for the loss of zay - our wealth of experience, numerous drinking games, hardness of climbing, dubious double entendres and general all roundedness will mean that the current Bums won't know what hit them!

ERm... climbing-wise - speak for yourself. I'm gonna find me a nice, sexy fresher with lead-expererience and stick with him.
Btw - you got enough gear for taking me and and my mate? I'll come with a "full" car... that's 2-3 people including myself!

you've lost me?? enough gear for what? don't you know there's a drought on? ohhhhh you mean CLIMBING gear,,,
err well i've full enough lead rack, double ropes, and possibly a spare harness if required (but i'd try to borrow a bums one if you could) why have I become your leader? what about one of them thar sexy freshers??
oh and the tent is coming, but it's only a 2+ man (i.e a squeeze for 3,,) but that's if the barn is full,,

Well, I was told BUMS generally have the better looking men - so my hopes are high for a good looking fresher.
But combine that with someone with lead experience and nana-tolerance... and i guess the choice will diminish to virtually sub-zero.
Sooooo.. i'm just prepping for the safe option (well, the 'safe' is debate-able) and asking you to take me up some climbs!
My mate's not a good climber. He's going to buy himself some shoes and poss harness - but if there's a 'spare' just in case - that'd b great!
And cuddling in the cold sounds good to me! If we end up tenting: I got both a rollmat AND thermarest. Plus my arctic sleeping bag... hopefully I'll not end-up too ill.

oooohhhh, well why didnae you say so!! yeah course,, no problemo,, I will happily be a fall back option. Tho I'll gloss over the 'safe' option part,,, i'm sure some chaos will reign when sat morning comes,,
Tho I'm surprised - how long you been climbing - and still no harness? ooohh he doesn't have harness,,, right.
p.s what size shoe? i've got some spare 8 and 1/2's that I squeeze my feet into (size 10 normally) which would be cheaper for the weekend? can bring them along if he doesn't want to fork out straight away??
hang on was that 3 in my tent - damm ok then (so not got you to myself then shucks,,) hmmm cosy warm. Which will prolly be a good thing for N.wales!
